Havertz Praises England Ahead Of Tuesday Clash

Germany and Chelsea star Kai Havertz has heaped praise on England, insisting that the Englishmen possess one of the best talents in the world ahead of their Round 16 game at the Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Havertz believes it will be a big game on the English turf as the two teams prepare to renew their known rivalry.

After finishing Group D without conceding any goal, Gareth Southgate’s men have been tipped to beat Germany, who does not look like their old selves.

Havertz believes Die Mannschaft will need to put up a masterclass performance in order to stand a chance of progressing at the expense of the Three Lions.

“It’s a special game for me. I know some players, I’ve lived in London for a year. But generally, I approach the game like any other,” Havertz told a pre-match press conference.

“It’s going to be a big game for us. And we’re going to do everything we can to come out on top. They’re loaded with some of the best players in the world.”

“Of course they still have some room for improvement, but offensively they have great individual quality. On the other hand, I think it will be a duel of equals.”

“We are all very excited and focused on the game.”

The 2021 Champions League winner was asked if England have the upper hand due to his one-year experience in the Premier League.

“It’s not an advantage,” Havertz added.

“We have many players in the squad who have already played big games. A few players can assess the level and the toughness of the opponent.”
